No images? Click here Hi friends, Adamah NY has been deeply engaged in meaningful work, and we’re excited to share some beautiful updates with you. We’ve just returned from our first-ever Roots and Resilience Environmental Journey to Israel—a powerful and heart-opening experience. Together with a group of NY based Jewish environmentalists, we explored what it means to stay rooted in our values while building resilience in a region facing both ecological challenges and the harsh realities of war. We visited sustainability and community projects, met changemakers and peacebuilders, and reflected on how climate action and physical security are interwoven in complex and urgent ways. You can read more about this journey in our latest blog. Also in this newsletter: an invitation to join us for Rooted, our joyful Jewish Day of Service on September 21; a look at the inspiring impact of this year’s Adamah NY Climate Action Grants; and an opportunity to join our upcoming composting webinar for Jewish organizations. We’re so glad you’re with us on this path—thank you for being part of the Adamah NY community. With gratitude, ![]() Dr. Shahar Sadeh, Roots and ResilienceComposting 101 WebinarComposting 101: What Your Jewish Institution Needs to Know Now Join us for a practical and timely session on June 11 designed specifically for Jewish institutions navigating NYC’s evolving waste and composting regulations. Whether you’re looking to comply with new rules, reduce your environmental footprint, or live out the Jewish value of bal tashchit (not wasting), this session is for you. Adamah NY Climate Action FundWe’re thrilled to announce that the second round of the Adamah NY Climate Action Fund has awarded $56,331 in matching grants to six inspiring member organizations of the Jewish Climate Leadership Coalition: Central Synagogue – Beth Emeth, Congregation KTI, Hebrew Tabernacle, Yeshiva Har Torah, and Yeshiva University. These schools and synagogues are taking meaningful steps on their climate journey—installing solar panels, smart thermostats, and energy-efficient lighting—as they live out Jewish values and repair the world. Together, their projects will cut an estimated 102 metric tons of carbon emissions each year and save over $75,000 in operating costs EACH YEAR. We’re proud to support their leadership and commitment to a more sustainable future. Learn more about our upcoming round of Adamah NY Climate Action Fund here.
