Year in Review 2022/23In the past 12 months Grains Australia has moved out of its establishment phase and is now focused on consistent delivery of value. The Year in Review report highlights achievements made by Grains Australia in delivering on its purpose in 2022/23. Grains Australia's purpose is to manage classification, market access, and market insights and education to enhance competitiveness and profitability. INDUSTRY ENGAGEMENTConstructive engagement with ChinaPositive engagement with China was achieved during a visit to that country by Grains Australia personnel and industry partners earlier this year. “Grains Australia is actively looking for ways to build on this engagement and ensure Australia and China can create a stronger partnership and work towards achieving benefits for both parties,” Grains Australia Chief Executive Officer Richard Simonaitis said. Representing Grains Australia at the Indonesia Australia Business Conference in Jakarta recently was General Manager Trade and Market Access John Ackerman, who spoke in a session on sustaining trade and investment. Mr Ackerman has long-standing ties with Indonesia and is an adviser to the Indonesia Australia Business Council (IABC). Grains Australia CEO Richard Simonaitis was in Indonesia recently for the final part of the Grains Value Chain Leadership program, from which the first group of 25 has now graduated. The collaborative program is strengthening grassroots relationships with private sector grains industry representatives from Indonesia, which is Australia’s biggest wheat customer over time.
