Three Tips for Student Engagement

As you know, we always strive to provide more resources for our teachers to best reach students and guide them to discover who they are, what they want, and how they can get it. This is why we have recently discussed ideas to best increase student engagement.

Here are three things you can do right away to get your students to quickly buy in:

• Get them active: Getting students up and out of their seats to participate in fun activities relevant to the lesson will help to break through the husk of the mundane perception of class.
• Let them interject their thoughts and experiences into the lesson: Build in time to ask them questions about their thoughts, goals, and experiences, and let them explain themselves.
• Be vulnerable: Seeing their teacher as a human being and hearing about your educational experiences or career exploration develops a connection and opens up the classroom to more productive conversations.
