Kia ora koutou

It's definitely good to bid farewell to a chilly winter season and warmly embrace spring.
In August, our Board meeting was in beautiful Nelson. We extend our hearty gratitude to Aquaculture New Zealand for their generous reception and valuable industry insights through visiting relevant local businesses - it was a great learning experience!

Last month, the Minister for Tertiary Education and Skills, Hon Penny Simmonds, unveiled the consultation process on Redesign of the vocational education and training system. Working closely with our Board and trusted partners, we've provided comprehensive feedback and our preferred choice, which you can read here. I hope that everyone across our sector seizes this opportunity to submit their views, which will hopefully result in charting a definitive and sustainable course for our future.

I'm delighted to announce that preparations for next year's Research and Insights Forum are well underway. The event is scheduled to take place in Wellington on 18-19 March 2025. Look out for a "save the date" email that will arrive soon.

As always, if you find value in the content of this newsletter, please share it with your colleagues and ask them to subscribe in order to stay informed.

Ngā mihi
