Good morning

Good morning, members, and welcome to another lovely Thursday. How are you all this morning? Rainy weather got you down? Well, we have the perfect solution - spend the day inside with us! Get comfortable, make yourself a nice cuppa, and enjoy our stellar lineup for today.

First, it’s time to give you all the answers to yesterday’s tricky riddle. For those of you who don’t remember, the riddle goes:

If a chicken says, ‘All chickens are liars,’ is the chicken telling the truth?

So there are two possible answers to this one, depending on how you interpret it. The first answer is that chickens can't talk, making the question moot. Now, let's say chickens can speak. The second answer is no; the chicken is not telling the truth because it claims all chickens, including itself, are liars. This one was a doozy, eh? But a fair few of you got the answer correct! If you're one of them, stick around, and you'll find a shout-out waiting for you at the end of the newsletter.

Next up, we have today’s Fascinating Fact!

Have you ever wondered how woodpeckers don't get brain damage from all the pecking? Well, one of the most fascinating things about woodpeckers is that they have a very special tongue that is nearly three times longer than their beaks and wraps around their skull. This adaptation is a far greater purpose than simple storage. The muscles of the tongue act as a shock absorber, cushioning the impact of the woodpecker's head as it bangs away. In short, the woodpecker's tongue serves as a helmet, protecting its brain from damage! Isn’t that fascinating?
