IFE is the largest annual UK Food and Drink trade show, which takes place at ExCeL London, an international exhibition and convention centre in London. Over the three days of IFE, 27,000 key industry professionals will visit the show to meet exhibitors and sample the food and drink on offer. This is a unique opportunity to build networks in the UK and connect with relevant buyers from the key retail, foodservice and manufacturing sectors. To assist WA businesses to diversify export markets and take advantage of opportunities offered by the Australia-UK Free Trade Agreement, the WA Government is supporting a WA presence on the Australia Stand at IFE. WA export ready food and beverage businesses have the opportunity to showcase their products on a small, shared space dedicated to WA, or register for a 2 square metre or 6 square metre client package with Austrade that will be co-funded 50% by the WA Government. For the latter 2 options, WA food and beverage exporters must register an expression of interest via the Austrade website. To showcase in the shared space and/or to join the trade delegation to London, please contact Jim Paparo, Principal Trade Consultant, WA Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, at jim.paparo@dpird.wa.gov.au. Applications close Monday 20 November 2023. More... This was the key message from speakers at the 24th session of the Agriculture Market Information System (AMIS) Global Food Market Information Group at World Trade Organisation headquarters in Geneva last week. Edwini Kessie, Director of the WTO's Agriculture and Commodities Division, opened the meeting by noting the crucial role that AMIS has played in enhancing transparency on global food markets and strengthening food security. “AMIS has helped to improve the functioning of global markets for food and agriculture by ensuring that accurate, timely information is publicly available on a regular basis,” Mr Kessie added. “This has been particularly important when these markets have been buffeted by sudden shocks, as has been the case in recent years.” More...
