MARINE BUSINESS NEWS UPDATE

NEWS UPDATE

18 November 2022

Publishers note

METS Amsterdam does an amazing job to bring the worlds marine industry together. Apart from seeing the latest in technology, new product development, they also spend a considerable amount of time awarding businesses for their success. It was good to see that Australia didn’t miss out with Riviera being announced as joint winner with Sunseeker International as having the “Best Apprenticeship or Training Scheme”.

One thing is for certain, as an industry we can reflect on the many awards given and really understand what is making an impact. They had the Boat Builder Awards for Business Achievement, the 31st DAME Awards and the DAME Design Awards. And not to be left out, our very own AIMEX hosted two of our Apprentice of The Year winners to visit the event.

In other news, Maritimo is shipping lots of product overseas, whilst Mercury has launched 350 & 400hp V10 outboards. We have new showrooms opening and the BIA Vic’s Boat Owners Club is off and running. We also read about Nautilus' quick response to a marina fire that destroyed a 82 Sunseeker on Hamilton Island last month.

It would be remiss of me not to mention Michelle. She is having her good days, and her bad days. She has now been out on the Pacific for over three months. Even the hardest of hardened boaties would have admiration for what she is doing. Let’s wish for her safe arrival home.

Just like last week, this week has been a busy news week and we urge you look at the many more stories on our website for many more stories not seen in this newsletter as well as links to resources, photo libraries, reviews, our international industry events calendar, and our jobs board.

Our newsroom is open, and if your business has news to share, please let us know. Feel free to contact me or our team in the newsroom at newsroom@marinebusinessnews.com.au
