Lancashire Hill Family Group takes home two awards at the Forever Manchester Birthday Party – Awards Evening
Congratulations to the Lancashire Hill Family Group, who won two awards at the Forever Manchester Birthday Party – Awards Evening.
The group won the Connecting Communities Award for their amazing work with the holiday club during summer and the Community Group of the Year Award!

BOOST Wellbeing CIC - Get Onside Mental Well-being Football
BOOST creates safe social spaces where people can get active, connect, build skills, and enhance mental well-being. They believe sports, especially football, foster essential social connections for wellbeing.
In April 2023, BOOST received £1,750 from the Skylight Community Fund to run ‘Get Onside’ wellbeing football classes at Stockport Sports Village. Partnering with Stockport Town Football Club and Life Leisure, the fund covered pitch and equipment costs.
The group grew from 6-7 participants per session to an average of 20, with the most attended session reaching 31 players. Open to ages 16-67, sessions welcome people from diverse backgrounds, including those in primary and secondary care and individuals with physical disabilities or additional needs.

Participants praise the sessions for promoting physical health, social inclusion, and self-esteem. In 2023, the initiative earned Special Recognition at the Stockport Homes STAR Awards for its inclusive, accessible, and community-focused impact.

Free Counselling for Stockport Homes Customers
If you’re going through a difficult time, talking it through could help. Counselling gives you time to speak to someone who will listen, offer support and will not judge you. Stockport Homes customers can get free counselling from Beacon Counselling.
Counselling can help with things like:
- Coming to terms with a relationship breakdown or losing someone important to you
- Worries about the cost of living, redundancy or stress at work
- Dealing with feelings of anxiety or sadness and helps to resolve complicated feelings, or find ways to live with them.
- Supporting you to feel happier with who you are, to make sense of things and to understand yourself better.
- Improving relationships by working out better ways to communicate
- Dealing with changes in people’s lives, like having children or living with a long-term illness
- Dealing with recent or past trauma

We have seen an increase in items being thrown from windows of high-rise blocks. This is a criminal act which could cause serious injury or death. Anyone found responsible risks losing their home and being prosecuted.

Give your feedback on how properties are allocated
We need your views on how homes are allocated in Stockport!
We are asking residents to give their views on Stockport Council’s Allocations policy. The policy aims to make the best use of homes and give preference to those most in need.
There are currently 9000 active applicants registered for housing with Stockport and last year less than 600 properties became available for reletting.
