If you would like to see what the group got up to over the holidays, watch our video here. ![]() BOOST Wellbeing CIC - Get Onside Mental Well-being FootballBOOST creates safe social spaces where people can get active, connect, build skills, and enhance mental well-being. They believe sports, especially football, foster essential social connections for wellbeing. In April 2023, BOOST received £1,750 from the Skylight Community Fund to run ‘Get Onside’ wellbeing football classes at Stockport Sports Village. Partnering with Stockport Town Football Club and Life Leisure, the fund covered pitch and equipment costs. The group grew from 6-7 participants per session to an average of 20, with the most attended session reaching 31 players. Open to ages 16-67, sessions welcome people from diverse backgrounds, including those in primary and secondary care and individuals with physical disabilities or additional needs.
Participants praise the sessions for promoting physical health, social inclusion, and self-esteem.
