ISSUE 15: March 2026

Spring has sprung (well almost)

Hello lovely HWN community,

We’ve been told that Spring is on its way… and I’m choosing to believe it. There are a few hopeful signs in the garden, and every now and then that strange orange orb appears in the sky (I think it’s called the sun?). With the Bank Holiday incoming there are plenty of reasons to be hopeful.

Behind the scenes, it’s been a busy few months planning what’s coming up for Her Wealth Network this year and I’m really excited to share a few highlights with you.

Event: Finding Your Voice
Date: 23 April

We’re just weeks away from our flagship Finding Your Voice event - and there’s still time to join us if you haven’t signed up yet.

This is a special evening for HWN members, celebrating confidence, visibility and the power of using your voice. You’ll hear from last year’s winner, Kelly Lake, who’ll share how taking part had a genuinely transformative impact on her confidence.

I’m also delighted that Rachel Grieve from Nomura is joining us again as our workshop coach. Rachel will share the secrets of great public speakers and help us all build the skills to present with confidence and truly own the room. There’ll even be a short, supportive practical session so we can put those skills into action together.

We’ll finish the evening with a showcase from six speakers from the Her Wealth Network and LGBT Great networks. After taking part in a separate workshop with Rachel, they’ll each deliver a two‑minute talk on a subject close to their hearts.

Event: London Stock Exchange Group Gen Z event
Date: 13 July

After a few planning difficulties, I’m really pleased to say this exciting new event is back on - with a new date of 13 July.

Her Wealth Network has partnered with the London Stock Exchange Group to create a brilliant opportunity for people aged 18+ (Year 13, university students and those in early careers) to quite literally own the mic.  This is an incredible opportunity for the young people in our lives as we know.  They may not realise quite how incredible, so please talk to them about it and how it will amplify their CV!

Participants will:

  • build confidence in public speaking and presenting
  • boost their financial literacy
  • and have the chance to record their own podcast in the London Stock Exchange’s professional studios

Episodes will be published on Spotify, Apple Music and other major platforms. There’s also the chance to meet our special guest, Abigail Foster, author of Money Manual and a regular voice on LBC.

Spaces are limited - so if you know someone considering or starting a career in finance, please do pass this on.

New blogs to catch up on

We’ve been aiming to publish a new blog each month, and we’re off to a great start. So far this year you can read:

  • You still belong here – life after maternity leave an honest reflection of life after mat leave by Laura Bampfylde

  • International Women’s Day – Kate’s reflections

  • Beyond ‘doing the right thing’: what financial services can learn from the energy sector by Mark Freed

If you've ever thought of writing something for Her Wealth Network, please do get in touch - we'd genuinely love to hear from you.

What's coming up next?

We’re currently working on a couple of new events - one in Bath and one in Edinburgh. I can’t share too much just yet, but more details will be coming very soon.

We’re really conscious that many of our events have been London‑based, and we’re keen to bring HWN to more parts of the country so more of you can connect in person.

Podcasts

Our podcast has also been having a little rest while we line up some exciting new episodes for next quarter - watch this space.

Finally, I'm very excited to share that long time friend of HWN, Victoria McLean from City CV will be hosting 3 webinars for us and you can register for these now using the links below. They are so hot off the press we haven't had a chance to add to our website yet! We will be promoting these with more detail very soon.

Exclusive discount for Fund Forum

We’re also delighted to share a special opportunity for Her Wealth Network members. Fund Forum – the world’s premier gathering for wealth and asset management – returns to the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco from 22–24 June 2026, and HWN members can benefit from an exclusive 10% discount on registration. If you register for your tickets via this link, your discount will be applied at the checkout.

Over three days, more than 1,500 senior professionals from across the global investment ecosystem will come together to explore the forces reshaping public and private markets. With access to world‑class speakers, CPD certification, powerful networking (including Women Mean Business and The CEO Boardroom), and the chance to connect in advance via the ConnectMe app, this is a brilliant opportunity to learn, share and build meaningful connections on a global stage.

If Fund Forum has been on your radar, this could be the perfect time to attend. Kate will be attending the event and Her Wealth Network will be represented at the Women Mean Business lunch.

A word from our sponsors, Scottish Widows

We talk a lot about self‑care - but taking care of our financial future matters too.

On average, women in the UK retire with a 32% lower pension than men, often due to career breaks and part‑time working. Understanding how life events affect your pension can make a real difference to how you plan for later life.

Whether you’re just starting out, taking a career break, or simply want to stay informed, the Invest in You hub has plenty of helpful, accessible information.

Know your rights - family leave and workplace pensions

We'd like to share a useful resource for anyone going on or recently returned from family/mat leave. We have created a simple guide explaining how statutory family leave and pay interact with money purchase workplace pension contributions.

As always, thank you for being part of Her Wealth Network, I hope to see many of you at an event very soon.

Best wishes
