Season's Greetings from AEC

Dear colleagues and friends,

To meet so many of you again at this year's AEC Congress was a great pleasure. Warm thanks to the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp for its generosity and dedication as host.

The final outcomes of the AEC-SMS project, which were presented at the Congress, can be traced in this Newsletter. I would like to encourage you all to take ownership of these outcomes, to use them in your own context and to share them with your colleagues, within and outside your institution.

In the coming year we will maintain our focus on the societal responsibilities and relevance of higher music education. At next year´s Congress in Lyon, we will also look into artistic processes and results, and the EPARM conference in London in April will concentrate on the Artistry of Artistic Research.

This strange year marked by new waves of Covid is coming to an end. We have high hopes for a new and brighter year ahead of us. My colleagues in the AEC Council and the AEC Office Team wish you all a peaceful Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Eirik Birkeland
AEC President
