Saturday Edition
Good morning, lovely members and happy Saturday! Oh, how we love Saturdays. We can finally put our feet up, relax, and enjoy some well-deserved rest. Whether it’s sleeping in, seeing a movie, going for a walk, or just relaxing at home - it’s an ideal time to take a pause from our busy lives and recharge our batteries.
I, for one, am planning to do some cleaning and organising around the house today and maybe even squeeze in a sneaky nap. Then, in the evening, I’m going to take my partner out for dinner to celebrate Valentine's Day early - because, let’s face it, who wants to fight the crowds on the actual day? So, that's my itinerary for today. How about you? What are your plans for today?
Before we get too caught up in the weekend, let’s take a look at the answer to yesterday’s riddle! So, what was it again?
I know of a place where today comes before yesterday. Where would that place be?
If you answered the dictionary, then you are correct! So, the word 'today' is listed before 'yesterday' in the dictionary. Well done to those of you who got it correct! You'll find a shout-out waiting for you further down this newsletter.
Now, onto our next segment for the day, ‘What Would the Grandkids Say.’ Today, we’re taking a look at the phrase ‘cuffing season'. When it's cold outside, and all you want to do is snuggle up with someone, that's what the kids today call ‘cuffing season’. This term is used during autumn and winter when people are more likely to want to find a partner to cuddle. So, if you see your grandkids spending more time with their partner or cuddling up with someone new, now you know why!
