NEWS UPDATE04 September 2026 Publishers noteHere are the numbers. When we combine the stories we produce with media releases and those submitted for our consideration, we probably have around 80 to 100 stories to review each week. From there, we determine which we think will be of greatest interest to our readers, guided very much by readership statistics and story categories. We typically publish around 35 each week. Each Thursday, we prepare our industry eNews, which should arrive in your inbox at 7.00 am (AEST) on Friday. The eNews begins with the stories we enjoyed most during the week, not that we didn’t enjoy the others, which we present as our feature stories. These are followed by a summary of all the other stories, categorised by subject matter. In some “slower” weeks, interpret that as you wish, we might include six to eight feature stories. This week, however, we faced a dilemma. We had 38 stories in total, including 16 crackers worthy of being featured. So, what do we do? The first thing is not to listen to the “experts” who say “less is better”. Instead, I’m going with my gut and featuring all 16, allowing you, our readers, to decide whether you like them or not. The readership data will tell me next week. This is all in keeping with our new favourite acronym, which I created: #ETRWYW (Everything There - Read What You Want). It is my defiant response to the more contemporary #TLDR (Too Long - Didn’t Read). One small caveat: many email readers will cut long emails short, so it may be necessary to click “View Entire Message” to see the complete eNews. We do hope you enjoy this week’s Marine Business News. #ETRWYW Marine Business News is an Australian-owned marine industry news service publishing local and international news. If you have news stories you would like to share, please let us know by contacting our newsroom via our email at NewsRoom@MarineBusinessNews.com.au. Stay safe on the water,
