NEWS UPDATE13 December 2024 Publishers noteThis week, my focus extended beyond Marine Business News. I had the privilege of being part of a team that successfully delivered a significant conference and awards program for the business events sector. Witnessing the awards evening made me reflect on the importance of awards in every industry. They provide a vital opportunity for businesses to have their products and services recognised for their excellence and distinctiveness. This is also a timely reminder that the Nautilus Marine Insurance 2025 Marina of the Year Awards are now open. I encourage businesses to start considering how they can participate and showcase their exceptional work. In other news, The Whiskey Project Group have announced the addition of a facility in Newcastle to help expand its manufacturing footprint. The expansion and success internationally have been impressive, and this new facility is “complementing” its established presence in Sydney (Belrose), Gosford, Morisset, and Yamba. They say that over the past year they have increased their workforce by 45%. This is very good for our industry. Apart from employing those with an interest or trade in our sector, they are no doubt opening the door, either directly or indirectly to bring younger people into our industry. I do hope you enjoy this week’s news. Marine Business News is an Australian-owned marine industry news service publishing local and international news.
