With verso featuring an elegant letterpress text from Andre, referencing his red cedar sculpture The Tomb of the Golden Engenderers; created in honor of his parents' 50th wedding anniversary: "The tomb of the golden engenderers / For Margaret and George Andre / Married 22 May 1976." La Biennale Flottante d'Iris Clert (Prospectus)

Paris: Iris Clert / New York: Call for Travel, Inc., 1964. Travel brochure; single glossy sheet (13.5 x  x 19 inches), folded into 8 panels (6.75 in. tall). A charming prospectus for the innovative "floating Biennale" (Jun. 15 - 23, 1964), curated by avant-garde Parisian gallerist Iris Clert. Setting sail from the Venice Biennale—after a five day anchored exhibition—the proposed seventeen day cruise charted a course through the Greek islands, with up to 100 patrons joining Clert and a stable of un-named artists on the S.M. Galaxy. (A separate announcement card for the exhibition, not included here, offers a list of 20 exhibited artists, including Pol Bury, Lucio Fontana, and Ad Reinhardt). Text in both English and French, illustrated by black-and-white photos of the ship's interior, with the verso unfolding into a large map of the planned course. London: Chris Hill and Brian Zahn, 1967. First Edition. Folio. British variant—with original cover design—for the second number of Brian Zahn's Philadelphia-based Underground serial, which would ultimately run for 12 issues. This number notable as the first appearance of Robert Crumb's Head Comix, which is granted full-page treatment. Contents: [16] pages; loose folios. Some creasing at horizontal fold, with marginal toning to front cover; close to near fine.

4. DARBOVEN, Hanne and Bernhard Berz (photographer)

[Small Archive of Photographs from Hanne Darboven's Assistant]

[Mostly Germany], circa 1990s. An intriguing collection of 170 loose photographs captured by Hanne Darboven's personal photographer and assistant, Bernhard Berz. Includes images of Darboven's Hamburg home/studio/Wunderkammer, her beloved goat Micky, installation views from various shows, reproductions of her notebooks and maquettes, candid images with family and friends, and a reproduction of a painting she executed at 16 years of age (dated 1957 and hand-numbered as 89/90). With a handful of photos featuring Darboven's manuscript annotations. Photographs in both color and black-and-white (ranging from 6 x 4 in. to 12 x 8 in.), with a few Polaroids and some duplicates; largely without flaw, save for some must. Accompanied by archival box illustrated with an image of Darboven and Micky. An insightful, behind-the-scenes view into Darboven's later practice.

New York: Some Planes Press, 2025. Limited Edition. Folio. One of 100 SIGNED copies, each accompanied by one of two pigment prints. An evocative artist's book from photographer Bill Jacobson, drawing together elegiac landscapes captured across Virginia, southern France, and Upstate New York (2018-2020) with figure studies shot in his East Village studio (2019). With 32 images lovingly printed by Puritan Press in New Hampshire, handbound into two volumes; a third volume presents an original poem from Wayne Koestenbaum and a critical text from Marvin Heiferman on Jacobson's de-focused aesthetic. All elements housed in custom case. This copy (no. 63/100) being the figure variant; accompanied by a Dibond-mounted pigment print (11 x 14 inches) of when is a place # 289 (hand-numbered to colophon as #13/50). An impressive monograph published on the occasion of Mike Kelley's ambitious exhibition at Gagosian Gallery (Nov. 11 - Dec. 17, 2005). Under the baroque title Day is Done: Extra Curricular Activity Projective Reconstructions #2 - 32, Kelley produced twenty-five video installations/sculptures; dramatizing photographs of extracurricular activities he found in high school yearbooks, in order to fill in the memory gaps of his earlier Educational Complex sculpture (1995). With style, this catalogue documents Kelley's vision, with over 450 glossy pages of full-bleed color images, accompanied by artist's statement, scene notes, libretto, and two audio CDs. A scarce artist's book from Josephine Meckseper, published on the occasion of her exhibition at the Gesellschaft für Aktuelle Kunst in Bremen (Feb. 15 - May 4, 2008). Working quite directly on her trademark consumer-culture theme, Meckseper appropriates pages from a 1976 Quelle catalogue; the virtual window display for the leading German mail-order company. An accompanying essay from Sylvère Lotringer reminds us of the subtle Baader-Meinhof resonances. 13. PRINCE, Richard

Passions et Perversions (Signed Artist's Proof in Slipcase)

[Paris: Editions du Cratère, 1974 / New York: Two Palms, 2011]. Special Edition. Octavo. SIGNED by Prince to first page; hand-numbered as 2 of 5 AP copies. As part of Richard Prince's celebrated American Prayer exhibition at the Bibliothèque national de France (Mar. 28 - Jun. 26, 2011)—in which the artist's bibliophilia was placed on full display—Prince vandalized the covers of 17 French pulps that were rescued from the national library's deep-storage; placing them in vitrines next to his collection of American/English variants. In appreciation of donors to the exhibition, Prince then collaborated with the master printers at Two Palms to produce this commemorative Special Edition, with a blank book bound within facsimile covers of the 1974 pulp Passions et Perversions; the covers so faithfully reproduced (with BnF shelfmark) that even stains and creases are replicated to-the-touch. Each of the edition's twenty copies (plus artist's proofs) were given acetate jackets— replicating Prince's lozenge intervention to the original—and housed in the same gilt-lettered, leather-backed slipcases in which Prince preserves his own book collection. Scarce, with single OCLC record located (BnF). A fine example of a Prince keystone.

Copenhagen: Galerie Køpcke, 1961. Inventive announcement for the second appearance of Niki de Saint-Phalle's Tirs—i.e. her shooting paintings—designed by Fluxus artist/gallerist Arthur Køpcke. Single sheet (11.5 x 8.25), printed recto-only, and folded into 5.75 x 4.25 inch panels. Collaged together with fragmented cowboy imagery, Køpcke here repeats the statement/invitation: "Friday, September 15, [19]61, 7-9 p.m., Niki de Saint Phalle's paintings will be shot with a revolver and a Luginbühl cannon in Galerie Kopcke."
