Registration Now Open for Children’s Skills Series: Summer Move & Groove! Join us for our "Move & Groove" skills series on Tuesdays, from 11 am - 12 pm, beginning June 13th! Please note: this service is donor-funded / free for our families, due to the generous support of our donors, grantors, and community partners! Join Us for TWO Opportunities to Learn About Potty Training this Summer! Join the Down Syndrome Innovations Therapy Team to learn how the developmental domains and learning characteristics of Down syndrome can influence potty training. Our Therapy Team will identify general evidence-based potty-training strategies and discuss alternative strategies that can be individualized to meet each family’s needs. Practice, Practice, PRACTICE! 7/15, 7/18 & 7/20 Whether you have just started the potty-training journey or if you have experienced a few bumps in the road, you are invited to join the Pathways team for our very first Potty Party! The team will create natural opportunities for promoting skills needed for toileting success including dressing skills, language concepts, recognizing body sensations, and wiping. Now Enrolling: Summer (Therapeutic Small Groups for Children) Designed and facilitated by our Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Ready, Set, Regulate offers caregivers and self-advocates the opportunity to participate in both 1:1 and group learning activities. These therapeutic small groups are geared towards self-advocates and caregivers, who need to find shared language and shared strategies to work through big emotions. Sessions focus on building emotional regulation skills, including:

These groups take place at our Lifelong Learning Campus at 5916 Dearborn Street in Mission, KS. The fee for this therapeutic service is $150 for 6 therapeutic sessions. PLEASE NOTE: One caregiver (preferably someone who lives in the home or spends a significant amount of time with your child) is required to attend each session. Join Us for Our Summer Basketball Camp: Skills & Drills With PAC Athletes June 22nd Down Syndrome Innovations and PAC are teaming up on a basketball camp at Sylvester Powell. This camp has a capacity for 20 athletes per day, so we can provide one-on-one support and skill station leaders. Registration will be reserved on a first come, first serve basis, and once we hit capacity, we will start a waiting list. The Time is NOW for Your Health & Wellness Consultation! Long-Term Planning Consultations offer individualized support to parents/caregivers to better navigate services and funding sources during the adult years. Our Lifespan Service Team will help you prioritize and plan according to your loved one’s age and your family’s specific situation. The DS-ASD Connection is a virtual gathering of caregivers to discuss resources, strategies, community supports, and challenges related to a child or adult’s current or potential dual-diagnosis of Down syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorder. This group is facilitated by Down Syndrome Innovations staff, and we
will occasionally invite special guests with expertise in this area. This is a complimentary caregiver education opportunity, provided in addition to the individualized services we provide directly for individuals with DS-ASD for the purpose of skill-development, improving self-regulation and behavior, and increasing independence. Summer Celebration at Saturday, June 10th Grab your family and friends and join us for Summer Celebration! Stop by any time between 9:30 and 11:30 am to enjoy fun activities, vendors, food, and more!
