In this month’s 5 Minutes for Business, we take a closer look at Canada’s energy sector and how Canada’s regulatory system is limiting the ability to get energy products to market. 

Canada’s energy resources are of strategic importance and getting support right for this sector is not about offering the sector loans; it is about creating a regulatory system that will get projects completed.

In the face of social, economic and political change, some reports quickly decline in their relevance. This is not one of them.

The impacts of climate change regulations are becoming clear. Our economy continues to suffer from capital flight, significant increases in retail energy bills, and our regulatory system is cumbersome and lacks predictability due to the layering of regulations.

This report underscores the importance of meaningful climate change action guided by public policy committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions in Canada at the lowest cost to our economy and way of life.

Join us for a fun filled craft evening on Friday, January 25th from 6:00 - 9:30PM. $30.00 for two Scottish themed crafts in honour of Robbie Burns day. We will make a watercolour painting of a dragonfly on a thistle and some tartan greeting cards. All supplies included as well as refreshments. Location is Trenton Town Hall - 1861 at 55 King Street, Trenton. This is a fundraiser event and half the proceeds will be donated back to us, the Trent Port Historical Society.
