MARINE BUSINESS NEWS UPDATE

NEWS UPDATE

12 August 2022

Publishers note

With the Sydney International Boat Show behind us, we look forward to the Perth Boat Show only weeks away with Melbourne following in October.

In speaking to Peter Woods, he advised that the Perth Show is almost at capacity with only limited space available. Great news for the West. In the South, the team at BIA Victoria have put the ‘house full’ sign up. Interested exhibitors are being urged to email their interest rather than apply for space. Again, great news for the upcoming 60th running of the Melbourne Show.

In very late breaking news, Barry (BJ) Jenkins has retired after 15 years as Chairperson of Superyacht Australia. Of course, that was not the only contribution BJ made to our industry. He has also been the General Manager of the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, Director of the Australian International Marine Export Group (AIMEX), Vice President and President of the Boating Industry Association of Queensland/Marine Queensland; Director, Vice President and President of the Australian Marine Industries Federation; and the Founding Chairman of Super Yacht Base Australia now Superyacht Australia.

Taking over at the helm of Superyacht Australia will be Chris Blackwell, Sales and Marketing Manager, Echo Marine Group bringing years of experience to the role.  Congratulations to both. Read the full story in Marine Business News.

Also in breaking news this week, is the BRP launch of the new ROTAX line of outboards. A new concept designed to bring numerous benefits to recreational boating. Marine Business News was able to get some advanced pictures that have now been published. See the full story with the pictures below.
