Thursday Edition
Good morning, members, and a very happy Thursday to you all! How are you all doing today? I (Vella) am feeling pretty good. Actually, I’m feeling more than good because I have something special to share with you all.
As many of you may know, I’ve been in a loving relationship with my partner, CJ, for quite some time now. Recently, I’ve been thinking of doing something big to take our relationship to the next level. That’s right, I’m thinking of popping the question! Not that I feel pressured by my friends getting engaged left, right and centre, but it’s made me think about the future with her. She’s my best friend and soulmate and the one I want to spend the rest of my life with. But I’m a bit nervous about the timing. So, members, I turn to you for your wisdom and advice. When did you know it was the right time to propose? I would love to hear your thoughts on this topic in our forum thread here. For those who have already taken the plunge, I invite you to share your beautiful proposal stories with the community. Let’s spread some love and joy today!
On a more serious note, for any members impacted by the developing Tropical Cyclone Ilsa, we just want to say that we are thinking of you at this stressful time. As per Fire and Emergency Services Commissioner Darren Klemm's advice, 'Clean up around home, have your emergency kit, and keep up to date with warnings.' If you need any help locally, consider posting on our Members Helping Members forum. Please follow the advice of emergency services and stay safe.
Now, let’s get to today’s newsletter. First things first, it’s time to give you all the answer to yesterday’s tricky riddle. Here's a quick refresher on the riddle for those of you who might've forgotten:
I'm not clothes, but I cover your body; The more I'm used, the thinner I grow. What am I?
So, did you crack the code? The answer is... A bar of soap! That was quite a challenge, but many of you clever folks still managed to get it correct! Many of you also answered 'skin'; we thought that was pretty clever, so we'll give you a shout-out too! Well, our skin covers our bodies, right? And it gets thinner as we age, so it fits the riddle pretty well. As promised, those who got it correct will receive a shout-out at the end of this newsletter, so keep an eye out!
Next, it’s time to share another Fascinating Fact!
Did you know that there's a town in Norway called Hell? It's a small town located next to Trondheim Airport Værnes, with around 1,500 residents. Hell even has its own railway station, making it a popular tourist stop! The name stems from the Old Norse word hellir, which means 'overhang' or 'cliff cave'. Interesting eh? Would you book a flight to Hell to check it out? I would!
Oh, and one last thing from me before we get into the news. Don't forget to play our newest game: SDC Bingo! Please read Jonathan's instructions first if you're
new to the game. Today's numbers are I22, I29, and G51. Remember, you need an account on the forum to join, so if you don't have one already, register here!
