California’s Golden State Pathways Program provides $500M in investments designed to support college and career readiness for ALL students to ensure that California thrives economically and socially.
Braiding the Golden State Pathway dollars with other state funds will create a powerful synergy for improving college and career readiness efforts within communities by building pathways that offer increased opportunities for collaboration among stakeholders and promote inclusive growth.
Teacher Spotlight: Matthew Ramey and River Springs Charter School
Matthew Ramey has taught at River Springs Charter School since 2008 where he teaches English and the Get Focused program.
“In a fast paced and changing environment, our Get Focused program helps students to think critically about their lives and plan for exciting futures,” he said.
Ramey has guided River Springs to two consecutive Career Choices Gold Medals.
“[It is] a wonderful platform that assists our students in unlocking their potential,” continued Ramey. “It is an honor to be recognized, and we look forward to introducing the 10-year Plan to more students in the years to come."
According to GreatSchools, River Springs places higher than the California State Average in SAT and ACT college readiness and has a 4% higher rate of dual enrollment than the state average.

Schools that reach gold, silver, or bronze medal distinction will be recognized by Academic Innovations and will be rewarded with a press release written and shared with area media, a celebration box, trophy, and banner.
