Well, well, well, if it isn’t my favourite group of people. Good morning and happy Saturday, members! It’s fantastic to be here with you all as we kick off another glorious weekend. How’s everyone doing this morning? Have you got any big plans for the day? I (Vella) am taking it easy and indulging in some much-needed relaxation and self-care. Sadly, I am still nursing a cold and sore throat, but thankfully, my mum’s homemade honey lemon drink is working wonders. Ah, mums always know what we need, eh? Whether it’s a comforting hug or a cup of tea on a sick day. So shout-out to all the amazing mums out there who give their all for their families. They truly are superheroes in disguise, and we are so lucky to have them in our lives.
Yesterday, I asked you all a question that got some incredible responses. I asked, ‘If you could have dinner with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and why?’ I was blown away by the heartwarming stories you shared. Many of you said you would love to have a meal with your mums or dads who have passed away. It made me emotional and reminded me of how important it is to cherish our time with our loved ones. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for sharing your stories and always participating in our
get-to-know-each-other sessions. If you haven't shared your story yet, please do so in our forum here. Our lovely SDC team member Sethia started this tradition, and it has been a joy to see how we’re all getting to know each other better.
Alright, let’s dive into today’s activities, starting with the answer to yesterday’s cheeky riddle. Here’s a reminder:
I have a big mouth, and I am also quite loud! I am NOT a gossip, but I do get involved with everyone's dirty business. What am I?
Am I a vacuum cleaner? Or a washing machine? Well, I could be both! We must say, this one had us laughing. Well done to everyone who got it correct! If you managed to solve the riddle, congratulations! You can find a special shout-out just for you further down in this newsletter.
And now, it’s time for our next segment, ‘What Would the Grandkids Say.’ Today’s term is 'FTW'! This term is an abbreviation of 'For The Win.' It is commonly used online to express excitement, enthusiasm, or support for something. This term can be used in place of ‘congratulations' and other expressions of victory. For example, if your grandkid did really well in their exams and got into their dream university, you could say, 'FTW!' So next time your grandkids do something amazing, don't forget to use this term!
