Sunday Edition
Good morning, members! How are all of you doing today? I (Jarred) hope you’re doing well. If the name had at least one of your eyebrows raised, well… Please take them back down, first of all. Secondly, yes! I’ll be taking over the Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday morning newsletters while our dearest Maddie goes off doing important Maddie things.
And now, for our quote of the week, kindly sent in by member Paul R.: ‘Make the most of all that comes, and the least of all that goes.’
It’s quite touching to read, isn’t it? As someone who tends to get caught up in his thoughts too much to enjoy the present, this hits home. If there were a dollar for every time I let that side of me win, I’d be a thousand-naire by now (not a millionaire, of course, as I don’t spend all of my waking hours being my distracted self… Kidding!). I also find events like goodbyes extra sad, so much so that I actively avoid prolonged send-offs because the longer they are, the more likely that sinking feeling in my chest gets the better of me, and I get teary-eyed.
More than anything, this fourteen-word reminder tells me to live in the moment and accept loss with as much grace as possible. Time is as fleeting as it is long, and I think the same can be said of the sadness in parting. After all, there’s never a shortage of things to enjoy and things coming around the corner in life. I hope you enjoyed this quote as much as I did.
Before we get to the news, I’d like to remind you to enter our latest competition! All you have to do is refer your friends to the SDC for your chance to win a $100 voucher to Coles, Woolworths, ALDI or IGA! To refer a friend to us, all you have to do is email us their name and email address here! You can also email us at contact@seniorsdiscountclub.com.au.
