NEWS UPDATE09 January 2026 Publishers noteIt’s that time of year when many who have enjoyed a break are wondering whether it is too early to return to work. For others, particularly those who have stayed on deck attending to the needs of boaties through this busy summer period, there has been little respite. It is also the time of year when some of us can to pull up stumps and reflect on what comes next, whether that be retirement, or simply a change of scenery. Such is the case for a friend of Marine Business News and regular contributor, Danny Casey. Of late I have had the chance to get to know Danny better, and I genuinely look forward to our conversations. His industry insights and technical knowledge cannot be understated. As Danny has shared, when he finishes full-time employment at the end of February, he is keen to remain active in the industry in some capacity. I sincerely hope we don’t lose Danny’s musings for Marine Business News, and for businesses seeking an experienced and thoughtful pair of hands, you could do far worse than reach out and see how he might assist. Best wishes Danny, and feel free to hit that keyboard whenever you wish. We do hope you enjoy this week’s news.
