Hello friends,
As we complete the counting of the Omer and move from Shavuot into summer, we’re reflecting on all that has unfolded—and all that is still to come. In this newsletter, our 20th, you’ll find Hannah Kahn Glass’s thoughtful reflection on the journey from receiving Torah to living it each day, along with Adamah NY’s highlights from the seven weeks between Pesach and Shavuot. With longer days and brighter weather, we’re also looking ahead: join us on June 4 for our “Let There Be Light” webinar to learn about solar policy in New York with NYSEIA’s experts, and on June 14 come take care of street trees with us and our partners at Big Reuse.
Finally, we’re proud and delighted to celebrate the recipients of our Climate Action Fund grants—mazal tov to the nine organizations whose work is helping build a more sustainable Jewish future.

Highlights from Counting the Omer
The Omer has ended—but what have these 49 days quietly transformed within us? This reflection traces the journey from barley to wheat, from freedom to purpose, inviting you to see how ancient rhythms of growth are still unfolding in our lives and communities today.
In case you missed it, during the Omer - the period of 49 days between Passover and Shavuot - we recounted stories of the Jewish climate movement, celebrating climate action success stories from members of our Jewish Climate Leadership Coalition, including the installation of solar power, heat pumps, LED lights, supporting regenerative agriculture, composting, and more!
With a $10k matching grant from Adamah’s Climate Action Fund, JTS is converting their light fixtures to LEDs. They’re projected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 69 tons and save $50,000 per year. This is a critical next step in the significant energy efficiency investments that JTS has already made in its infrastructure, such as heating systems and window replacements.
Adamah NY 4th Climate Action Fund Grants Awarded
Adamah NY concluded another round of climate action fund! The 9 organizations that received our grants are Friends of Rodeph Sholom School, Westchester Torah Academy, First Hebrew Congregation, Greenburgh Hebrew Center, Sinai Free Synagogue, Woodlands Community Temple, Congregation KTI, Yeshiva University and the Reconstructionist Synagogue of the North Shore.
