Welcome to your moment to ROAR!
Issue # 29

Dear Friend,

What is your guess on what most people 50-70 say is their number one priority in terms of spending after all of their core expenses are met?

In the ROAR ‘Meet the Re-Imagineers’ research study, which surveyed 1,500 consumers balanced to census on age, gender, and ethnicity, we learned that 84% of respondents planned to spend their money on travel and vacations. This group is ready to see the world!

This month, I'm writing to you from the El Questro station in The Kimberley outback in Western Australia. Travel has always been my passion; as many of you know, and adventure travel is one of my core life layers.

I've been fortunate to find a tribe of like-minded individuals, and we’ve taken an annual trip together for the past 25+ years.

We've been to Ethiopia, hiked to Everest Base Camp, took a Russian icebreaker to Antarctica, tracked lemurs in Madagascar, and also stayed closer to home hiking in the Badlands and on the trails of Santa Fe.

Here are some pics of my travel tribe during our trip to Western Australia (do you like the ROAR t-shirts?). On this trip, we've been to Perth, the wine region of Margaret River, Broome, the Kimberley outback, and Bungle Bungle, an extraordinary world heritage site in Purnululu National Park.

If you have the desire to travel, there is no better time than right now to make your plan. The good news is that the travel industry offers endless options, from wellness retreats to bicycling tours and more. If you have no one to travel with, every major outfitter accommodates a single traveler in unique ways. It just takes a little research.

This month, I'm introducing you to some extraordinary individuals. My longtime colleague, Kate White, the former editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan, who re-imagined her life as a suspense novelist with her 18th book out this month! Two other perfect examples of what a Re-Imagineer looks like are Tim Minnick, the world's oldest fitness trainer, and Alex Rotas, who launched a new career as a sports photographer at 60!

Speaking of sports and staying active, in this month's newsletter, you'll hear from Mike Sotak, CEO of FitBeyond, who has built an online company for all of us who want to stay active in our sports of choice. I'm a big fan of his business.

At ROAR, we’re always committed to celebrating the Re-Imagineer community. In the One More section of this newsletter, I'm happy to share the profiles of five of our Re-Imagineers featured in a recent Men's Health story, "5 Guys With the Guts to Change Careers at 50+."  Each of them is an inspiration.

It’s also my great honor to be chosen by the Men's Health editors alongside Dr. Peter Attia, Common, and three other men over 50 who are changing the conversation around the New Longevity.

I'll be heading home from Western Australia soon, traveling from Perth to Dubai to JFK with a treasure trove of experiences that I hope to share with you soon. In the meantime, I hope you'll dream about a place that you want to visit and put a plan in place.

Happy globetrotting!

Michael

PS. I'm looking forward to being the keynote speaker at this year's Silver Marketing Summit on June 25th in London at The Cavendish Centre. This gathering is a beacon for those passionate about elevating the conversation around aging and the 'silver' market.

For those who can't join us in person, we've arranged a special offer for the ROAR community: discounted livestream tickets are available for just £59. This is a wonderful opportunity to gain insights and inspiration from the comfort of your home. Secure your spot now.
