Thursday Edition
Good morning, members! Or God morgon (go’ morron) as they say in Sweden. Welcome to another lovely Thursday! So, what’s the plan for today? Maybe trying out a new recipe or nabbing some deals? Or perhaps just relaxing with one of our many games? No matter what you choose to do today, we’ve got you covered. So sit back, relax, and enjoy!
First off, it’s time for the answer to yesterday’s riddle. For those of you who don’t remember, the riddle goes:
I’m a god, a planet, and a measurer of heat. Who am I?
And the answer is…drumroll, please…Mercury! Mercury is a god in Roman mythology, it’s also the smallest planet in our solar system, and it’s used in thermometers to measure heat. We thought this would stump you, but we were so wrong! A lot of you got it correct, so make sure to stick around and you’ll find a shoutout waiting for you at the end of the newsletter.
Next up, it’s time to share with you today’s Fascinating Fact!
Did you know that urine used to be used as a detergent? That's right, Romans used urine to wash their clothes because of its ammonia content, which helped remove tough stains. In fact, it was so effective that they used it to clean and thicken woollen fabrics. And that's not all, Romans also used it to brush their teeth! That's a mind-blowing fact for a Thursday, eh?
