NEWS UPDATE

10 April 2026

Publishers note

It’s hard not to report on the activity the Associations are doing in preparation for their conferences in SE Queensland next month. With the hard work they are putting in, it will be delegates like us who will certainly be the big winners.

Somebody asked me this week, given the uncertainty around the world, if I will be attending the trilogy of events (ASMEX, SCIBS & Marinas26) next month, and my response was immediate. YES - absolutely. The uncertainty is more of a reason to attend. As a delegate at any of the events, I am there to learn, not only from those who are presenting or exhibiting, but equally importantly, from my peers.

What better place to get inspiration, get ahead, or simply heed the warnings from my industry colleagues. Trust me, I am expecting an element of pessimism, and rightly so, but I am equally going to grasp the positive movements, strategies and inspiration those around me will offer to help me look into the future.

These events are very good value. For the investment in time and money, the returns are, at times, immeasurable.

Just looking at the ASMEX conference, the price this year is significantly cheaper, including the conference, awards dinner and industry tour for the price of just the awards last year. The ASMEX team acknowledge that many businesses are tightening their belts and therefore they want to provide extra value. That’s great value.

Equally, Marinas26 is delivering a substantial program, where one will be challenged on how to plan attendance without missing anything.

We are less than six weeks away from these events and if you haven’t booked yet, I urge you to do it now. For ease, today we have included a link directly to their booking pages for your convenience.

I hope to see you there.

We do hope you enjoy this week’s news.
