 NEWS UPDATE

10 May 2024

Publishers note

Did you see the tumble team US had during SailGP official practice racing?

The report said “USA team capsized during official practice racing. Just 24 hours before the opening day of racing in Bermuda, the US team capsized in the third practice race of the day, en-route to the first rounding mark. No serious injuries were sustained by any of the athletes but it could be a long night for the SailGP Tech Team – and an anxious wait for the team – as the wingsail suffered significant damage during the impact.”

So, I’m glad they reported no injuries to the crew. (I say it was a miracle), except my heart nearly stopped when I saw it happen. I couldn’t help myself, so I tracked down some vision. We have a comprehensive wrap up of the three days in Bermuda, and I have included the vision I found. There are several angles of this vision around, but this one equally tells the story.

Best wishes in the run up to bump-in if you are participating in either of the conferences or the boat show. I know too well the effort needed to get there, and I wish everyone a safe and successful process to get to that time when the event doors open.

Our best wishes to all the mothers out there for Mother’s Day on Sunday.
