Thursday Edition
Good morning members, and happy Thursday! If you're on the east coast, it's been a very wet week, but hopefully the worst is behind us. On that note, we'd like to share an email we received from member Leanne H. Being based in Brisbane, she has very kindly shared a first hand account of the devastating floods. Her incredible and somewhat harrowing message can be found here. If you're in a flood prone area, please take care of yourselves and one another during these difficult times. You are in our thoughts.
Now, we have the answer to yesterday’s riddle. Here is a quick refresher of what it was!
Susan’s mother has three children. The first is called April, the second is May. What is the name of the third child?
If you answered June like we did.... You'd be wrong. This riddle was a bit of a trick question, but if you re-read it carefully you'll see why the correct answer was Susan. If you were one of those who got it right, stick around and you’ll spot a shoutout with your name on it! Congratulations.
Next up, as we do every Thursday, it’s time to share a Fascinating Fact with you all!
Did you know that there are 3 cities in the world that individually have a larger population than the whole of Australia?
There are roughly 26 million Australians, and half of us reside collectively in Sydney (5.3 million), Melbourne (5.1 million), and Brisbane (2.3 million).
But even our biggest cities pale into comparison with Dehli (29 million), Jakarta (33.4 million), and Tokyo (37.3 million).
According to the ABS, there are 3.3 people per square kilometre in Australia. As a frame of reference, Dehli has over 14 thousand!
We hope you keep this fascinating fact in mind next time you're lamenting the fact you have to wait in line to get a table for brunch.
So then, what’s happening in Australia and around the world today?

Remember when almost every office had a tea lady who would bring you a cup of tea, some biscuits, a friendly face, and some banter? We enjoyed hearing her trolley rattle down the corridor and treating the employees to the best cheese danishes.

Do you hate cleaning tile grout? If so, you’re not alone. Tile is beautiful and generally easy to clean, but cleaning grout? That’s a different story. Wiping down tiled surfaces often isn’t enough for tough stains or grime and crumbs. Not to mention that dirt and other debris can be left behind along the grout lines even after sweeping. As a result, you end up with grimy, black, and disgusting tile grout. Fortunately, you can clean your grout with cleaners and a little elbow grease, but this is not always enough to restore grout to like-new condition.
However, one Aldi shopper revealed that Aldi's $1.95 cleaning item DiSan, known for its stain removal powers on clothes, is also extremely effective when cleaning her tile grout. Zefanya, a mum-of-two, revealed how the cult-item transformed her floors, leaving the grout sparkling clean.
