Kaya ,

Western Australia is in the international spotlight this week thanks to two major global events taking place this week.

The first is the World’s 50 Best Vineyards 2025 awards in the stunning Margaret River Region. The award ceremony yesterday marked the first time this prestigious event has been held in Australia, creating strong national and international interest in WA’s beautiful wine scene. If that wasn’t reason enough to raise a glass, Tourism WA’s Pair’d Margaret River Region x Range Rover event kicked off today, offering a weekend of curated wine experiences at iconic local venues. Hosting these two events back-to-back created the perfect opportunity to invite global wine leaders, journalists and thousands of passionate wine, music and food fans to come to WA and celebrate WA’s world-leading winemakers.

Perth/Boorloo is also ready to take centre stage, as anticipation builds for the opening Test of the Ashes series at Perth Stadium, in what is shaping up to be the biggest sporting event in WA this year. Tomorrow’s opener will draw global attention and has already attracted tens of thousands of out-of-state visitors to Perth, creating a fantastic sense of vibrancy across the city as fans get excited to watch Australia and England go to battle for the Ashes.

The excitement extends beyond the boundary thanks to Tourism WA’s West Fest, a five-day celebration of sport, culture, and community that features fan zones, live music, gourmet food, and activations across Perth Stadium, the WACA, and Burswood Park. Highlights include the Ashes Watch Party at Elizabeth Quay, the Scorchers Women’s Big Bash League afterparty at the WACA, and even a Pair’d pop-up bringing Margaret River flavours to the city.

This week is an incredibly exciting time for tourism in WA, and we hope everyone enjoys the amazing wine, food and cricket on offer from Perth to the South West!

Warm regards,

Tourism WA Executive Management Team.
