Dear Region 13 Community-

Our entire community is deeply affected by the devastation caused by the Eaton fire. Thousands of families across our area, including many of you reading this email, have lost their homes. We grieve with you.

After speaking with numerous coaches and players, including those directly impacted by the fire, we've heard a resounding desire to continue with soccer as a source of joy during these difficult times.

All-Stars will start this weekend across the region. However, we do not expect to have access to Region 13 fields, so the game and field schedule will be updated accordingly. Coaches will receive communication from our Advanced Play Coordinator, Samir Singh, regarding equipment, jerseys, and more.

Grad Series will also start this weekend, with all games planned to move to fields in Region 214. We are working on equipment and an updated schedule. Grad Series Coordinator Jonathan Gardner will reach out to coaches soon.

Unfortunately, Winter Stars will not start this weekend. Pending field availability, we plan to begin the program the weekend of January 26 and will provide an update next week.

We are striving to replace player jerseys and other equipment. While the clubhouse is currently inaccessible, we will do our best to ensure children can play in a safe, fun, and fair environment, which may mean wearing pinnies.

Region 13 is collaborating with the entire national AYSO community to support our families. At this time, we are focusing on direct assistance. If you have an Amazon Wishlist or a GoFundMe for your family, please complete our form here. We will share responses on ayso13.org/eaton  and distribute them across the AYSO network so that folks from Pasadena, Altadena, and beyond can contribute.

If you have already requested equipment for a player via a survey that you may have received from your coach, the region is in the process of providing it to you, and you should receive it by Friday. Please contact Coach David Bailey at gerberbailey@gmail.com with any questions.
