Explore Fluent’s New Wellbeing Page

Following World Mental Health Day, we’re continuing the conversation with a new page on the Fluent website dedicated to exploring youth and family wellbeing through research, stories, and lived experience.

The collection brings together a range of resources that look at the factors shaping wellbeing today.

  • Videos: Teens open up about parents, peers, school, and screens—and reflect on how their perspectives have evolved over time in our Teen Mental Health series.

  • Articles: Our staff weighs in on topics such as creativity and youth wellbeing, and persuasive app design for kids.

  • Case Studies & Reports: This portfolio features work focused on research that has advanced youth mental health, including family resilience and technology’s impact on family, teen, and youth wellbeing. We also highlight the research on families’ pandemic experiences and the brands that became essential to family wellbeing during that period of time.

Together, these stories and insights deepen understanding of how creativity, connection, and community shape wellbeing across generations.

Beyond Labels

As we reflect on World Mental Health Day, Dan Warren invites us to look deeper at what shapes youth wellbeing in his article. Biggie Through Bronfenbrenner’s Eyes. This article is part of his regular column on the Youth Today website.

In this piece, Dan draws parallels between The Notorious B.I.G. and developmental psychologist Urie Bronfenbrenner, showing how families, communities, and culture all influence how young people grow and thrive.

Designing for Digital Wellbeing

Children’s mental health is shaped not only by how they use technology, but by how that technology is designed.

In Persuasive App Design and Its Impact on Children, Allison Caplovitz, Director of Content Research and Evaluation, explores how features meant to keep kids engaged can make it harder for them to disengage, especially for those still developing self-regulation.
