NEWSLETTER — #014

Hey, SuperMegaUltraGroovy Friends!

A few months ago, we (very) quietly launched the Capo Community. It's something we've wanted to do for a number of years: create a space for like-minded musicians to talk about Capo, music, and everything in between.

But we didn't want to create a new headache for you. Another account, on another website, that you have to keep checking on? No thanks! We feel the same way, and set up the Community site with all this in mind.

Dead-simple sign-up. We use Sign in with Apple exclusively so that you can skip all the annoying parts of creating an account. If you're nervous about sharing your personal information, use Hide My Email to create a fully anonymous profile.

Regular visits are not required. Our favorite feature of the community software is that you can configure it to send a summary email as (in)frequently as you'd like: daily, weekly, monthly. That way, you don't have to keep checking the site to see if you missed anything. More time for learning and practicing with Capo!

Have fun with it! We're not just looking for Capo-specific discussions here. Did you find a cool YouTube video with ear-learning tips? Share it! Have you finally tackled a solo that took you weeks to learn? Show us! We want to know more about you, your stable of instruments, the kinds of songs you reverse-engineer using Capo, and whatever you think would be interesting to musicians just like you: independent students of music that aren't afraid to put in the extra work and learn songs by ear.

Join the Capo Community

As always, Shelley and I appreciate your continued support—it means the world to us. We enjoy hearing from you, so please don’t hesitate to drop us a line if you ever have questions or feedback to share. See you in the Capo Community!

Got a Piano Tuner in your Home?

Not likely! So what happens when the song you’re learning is out of tune with your piano (or any other instrument)? With Capo, the answer is simple: use the pitch slider, and tune the recording to your instrument!

Do you work with young music students, but hate telling them to buy stuff? That's why we made all of Capo's powerful audio playback features available in the Free Edition. Teach your students how to learn songs by ear, and help shape the next great generation of musicians!

What the Pros are Saying

"Capo is AMAZING!!! Very clutch. Especially when parts are kinda tough in the mix that I can’t make out easily. With other apps you lose quality, this still sounds correct. Even when I’m tracking and need to get the BPM, it’s quicker than in my DAW. It’s so simple, user friendly… really impressed!"

Your Kind Words ❤️

We appreciate all your positive vibes and for sharing your experiences with Capo  —with us and the rest of the world!  🙌

★★★★★ - Very helpful for learning songs and instruments

I've been using Capo for years on Macs and iPads, and I truly love it! It's a great help for me to figure out how to play a song by giving me a starting point for working out the chords. It's one of the few apps that I pay for the subscription, because I find the added features invaluable. I use it for guitar and ukulele transcriptions of songs. This is a keeper!

★★★★★ - Must Have Music App

Not only is Capo the best Music related app I have, it’s my most favoured app of all 200+ apps I have on my phone. Over more than 10 years of use, this app has been absolutely KEY in helping me learn how to play many intricate tunes that I had wanted to be able to play for so many years. I use it almost daily and often for hours at a time. I simply LOVE it!

★★★★★ - Great for Ukulele practice

This is fantastic! By simply switching the TAB display to ukulele I can learn a new song easily. I download the somgs I want to learn right out of my iTunes library and play along with the original artist. No need to buy a book of songs. I mean, books are ok but this way I can learn right along and take in all aspects of the tune; how it should sound, the right chords, finger picking, etc. I can slow down and rehearse a section that gives me trouble until I get it right. It is a no-brainer! Use this app!!
