I am sure you all have the Christmas break dates in your diaries, but just in case we have included a reminder further down in this newsletter. It has been lovely seeing the children so full immersed in their learning these last few weeks, the children especially enjoyed making their diva lamps to celebrate Diwali. They were very much looking forward to trying them out at home! Children in Need was a great opportunity to learn about and think about children less fortunate than ourselves, and to do our bit by helping to raise some funds. You'll see that we've put together some links to events in the local area, and gathered some activity ideas to keep little ones busy over the festive period. I hope you can enjoy these with your families. As always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call us on 01288 389832 or email early.years@stpetrocs.com. With kind regards, Tahira White Early Years Manager Childcare funding changes coming soonIf you haven't already caught up with the childcare funding changes that are coming soon, please take a look at the below. Please feel free to share this poster with friends and family whom this may be relevant to. We'd hate for anyone to miss out! Learning about and celebrating Diwali The children have fully immersed themselves learning about Diwali, a celebration that symbolises the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness and new beginnings. They made and painted some diva lamps – small clay pots that can contain a little oil and a wick (or a tea light), tasted some samosas and made barfi, a traditional Indian sweet. Some cost-effective activity ideas for the festive periodWith the current cost-of-living crisis here for the foreseeable, and Christmas now fast-approaching, we thought we'd put together a few ideas to help keep the Christmas Spirit alive, that don't cost the earth (or in some cases cost nothing at all!) Please click on the link below.
