MARINE BUSINESS NEWS UPDATE

NEWS UPDATE

22 July 2022

Publishers note

It will be a dilemma for the industry given the particularly wet winter we have had. Last summer wasn’t that much better and with this came the inevitable situation of boats not being used.

Without a doubt this coming boating season will see an extraordinary number of vessels coming out of hibernation for what will be a longer than usual period. It is imperative that all boats are serviced or checked after these long spells without use.

Our industry will face a challenging period with high demand for service in a concentrated period of time.  This will be coupled with some having insufficient staff to deal with the demand. Every year we put out the call for people to think ahead and book a service early.

Once boat show commitments are over, it may be worth spending some time to reverse the process, and for businesses to call regular clients to prompt them to book in and get serviced.  Apart from building good will, it may help businesses smoothen out the demand curve.

In less than a week the Sydney International Boat Show will open after a 3-year absence. Best wishes to all participating exhibitors.

Lots to read and learn about. We hope you enjoy this week’s edition of our “Marine Business News update”. Remember, not all stories are featured in our weekly newsletter. To read all the stories, please visit MarineBusinessNews.com.au
