Sunday Edition

Good morning

Good Morning, members! And happy Sunday. I really want to get straight into the quote of the week this morning, because I have quite a bit to say.

‘If it comes, let it. If it goes, let it.’

I stumbled upon this gorgeous quote on Wednesday afternoon when I was sitting at my desk feeling a little blue, because I had the flu (unintentional rhyme, but I’ll take it!) I (Maddie) have had a lot of things happen over the past few days that have been a bit overwhelming, including losing a friend. I don’t want to go into too much detail because it’s not my story to tell, but I do want to come into your inbox today to say just how lucky we are to be sitting here, breathing, and reading this newsletter. I really don’t want to start your Sunday off with the ‘blues’ but I do think that sometimes we need a reality check. Life is fleeting and we never know what’s around the corner. Sometimes it’s something awful, and if and when it comes, let it. Don’t keep the emotions in. Cry when you need to cry! Laugh when you need to laugh! My goodness, it’s bizarre how much I’ve cried and then laughed this week. Two complete opposite emotions that seem to go hand in hand. There is always bad, but there is also always good. So let’s appreciate the good today. Tell the people you love that you love them. Take a nice deep breath of fresh air. And let’s just be grateful for being here for a brief moment, eh?

We know we’re grateful to be here at the same time as all of you lovely members.

Now, let's move on to some news from across Australia and around the world this week…

• This week we saw some great deals at Coles, Woolworths, ALDI, and IGA, including $9.50 Family Faves Chicken Tenders, $5 Birds Eye Ocean Selections Moroccan or Teriyaki Fish Fillets, and some cleaning and storage essentials. You can still get these deals today!
• We were made aware of a few product recalls, including three of Coles’ popular frozen meals and a popular kitchen appliance due to health and safety concerns.
• SCAM ALERT: We were also alerted of a few sophisticated scams targeting myGov users, Kmart shoppers, and ALDI shoppers. Click each link to learn how to protect yourself from these awful scams.
• Speaking of sophisticated scams, authorities have warned Aussies about another sophisticated scam after a mum was scammed out of $200,000 in life savings when a $210 deposit appeared in her bank account.
• Kmart shoppers went wild over this ‘genius’ hack that uses an unlikely $8 buy from Kmart.
• This is not a drill! Cadbury released a new chocolate block flavour – chocolate lovers (including us) are in for a treat!
• We also examined Coles’ ‘Flybuys’ and Woolies’ ‘Everyday Rewards’ to see if they are actually worth it.
• Urgent Malware Alert: Are you an iPhone user? You need to delete these 7 apps to avoid any security issues.
• Princess Diana's former bodyguard made a shocking revelation 25 years after Diana’s untimely death.
• Did you know that these two common viruses can trigger the early stages of Alzheimer's disease?
• And finally, a professional car detailer shared a rave review about this new $4.50 Kmart cleaning buy after putting it to the test.
