![]() After last week´s successful IRCs meeting at Conservatorio di Musica Nino Rota in Monopoli, Italy, we can look forward to the 49th AEC Annual Congress at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon & Online on 9-12 November. The chosen Congress title, "CHANGING PERSPECTIVES – Imagine new traditions", is inspired by AEC´s main project, ARTEMIS - Empowering Artists as Makers in Society (2022-2025), which will be presented at the Congress. Significant contributors to these new perspectives on higher music education are our students. These days, they have sent out a call to European student representatives to sign up as members of EPASA, the European Performing Arts Students' Association. The establishment of EPASA will soon be formally confirmed and represent a new milestone in the development of higher music and arts education in Europe. Enjoy reading more about these projects, events, and advocacy activities in this September Newsletter! Eirik Birkeland All AEC members are strongly encouraged to fill in our survey on their practices and needs in relation to advocacy at local level and beyond. ECSA-AEC 2023 Mentorship Programme is now open for applications. Female composers and songwriters from HMEIs across Europe are invited to apply. To help the project develop tailored engagement tactics, share the OOO2 survey with people not familiar with opera. Apply by 21 October to the courses for teachers in Higher Music Education institutions: “The Artist as Teacher”. The MusiQuE Training Workshop 2022 will take place on 19 October (online) and 9-10 November (in person) and contains specific elements on the roles of Chair and Secretary of a Review Team. On Wednesday 12 October, at 18:00 CET, the METRIC Network is offering an open online session delivered by Anne La Berge. Joining is free and open to everyone!
