Thursday Edition
Good morning everyone and welcome to another happy Thursday. We hope you all had a fantastic Australia Day filled with good food, great company, even better reading, like I don’t know, but maybe our Senior Australians of The Year article 😉 and most importantly, some time to relax. Now however, we return to our regularly scheduled programming.
We all know how much you lot enjoy your riddles every second morning during the week, so much so that our Monday riddle had over a whopping 380 riddle masters! That is a well and truly smashed record so congratulations to everyone that got stuck in and participated. Now where was I… Ah yes, the missing wednesday riddle! Not to worry, we're making up for it with a fantastic, one off, THURSDAY riddle! So without further ado, let's get into it!
"Your life will be spared, if you can solve this simple problem." The King told his prisoner.
"On your cell floor, the guard has placed six bags of gold coins. Bags 1 and 2 each contain 50 coins. Between them, bags 3 and 4 contain 75 coins, and bags 5 and 6 each hold 2 coins. Your task is to keep as many of the coins as you can. In 1 minute, which of the bags should you throw away?"
Luckily, the life or death scenario in this one is just a bit of fun storytelling, so don’t worry too much about solving the problem. I mean you aren't in a cell or anything 😉 We are massive fans of this one that Suzi H. sent in for us, and we hope you all are too. It's a bit of a tough one, so don't overthink it. We would hate to cause any riddle rage eh?
Now, next on the agenda for today is of course our fascinating fact of the day. Who here likes a good horror film? Whether you do or don’t, it would be hard to argue that Psycho (1960) isn’t an absolute classic, and one of the most famous films of all time. Most know it for the classic shower scene and the use of sound to create tension and convey the violent stabbing. Movies just don’t do that anymore eh? Well this scene wasn’t the only ground breaking thing that the film achieved. It was only the
first American film to ever feature a toilet flushing!
Yep, you read that right! No US film had ever shown a toilet, let alone the sound of one flushing. Pretty groundbreaking (or wind breaking 😉) stuff!

Gluten-free foods are all the rage these days, promising a healthier alternative to traditional foods. For some, following a gluten-free diet isn't easy, from sifting through lengthy ingredient lists to settling for foods that, let's face it, don't taste all that great. Members, just a joke warning here! This one is a little rude...
A bloke thought his wife was cheating on him. So he waited for her to leave that night and jumped in a cab to follow her.
By following her, he found out she was working in a whorehouse. The guy says to the cabbie, “Wanna make $100?” The cabbie says, “Sure, what do I have to do?”.

Van Gogh only sold one painting during his lifetime, Red Vineyard at Arles. This painting now resides at the Pushkin Museum in Moscow. The rest of Van Gogh’s more than 900 paintings were not sold or made famous until after his death.
