Wednesday Edition
Well, hello there, members! Come in and sit down for another wonderful Wednesday edition of our newsletter. Ah, it's good to have you here. How are you all this morning? Can you believe it's the last day of November already? This year is just flying by! Are you in the festive spirit yet? Well, I (Vella) most certainly am! Aside from the Christmas music that's been playing in my head since October (Yes, it's 'All I Want For Christmas’ by Mariah Carey), I've also started making my Christmas list.
My list this year is mostly filled with budget-friendly deals because let's face it, we could all use a little help in that department, right? With the rising cost of living, it's tough to make ends meet. That's why we're always on the lookout for the best deals, so you can be sure that you're getting the most bang for your buck.
Speaking of deals, we’ve got some scorchers for you today from Coles, Woolworths, ALDI and IGA. So when you’re doing your grocery shopping, be sure to check them out!
Now, onto our second riddle of the week! It's a tricky one, so get those thinking caps on! Here it goes:
What gets wetter and wetter the more it dries?
Oooh, this is a good one! If you think you know the answer, head on over to our riddle masters thread here. As always, anyone who gets the correct answer will be rewarded with a shout-out in tomorrow's newsletter.
Ah, we love a good riddle here at the SDC. But you know what we don’t love? Overpriced electricity and gas. We know for some of our beloved members, changing these prices isn’t possible because they’re stuck with their provider – we feel for all of those members. But for those of you who aren’t stuck, we highly recommend you still compare your electricity and gas bills*. You never know how much you can save on these everyday items. Compare today*.
Now, let's see what's happening in Australia and around the world today.

Today’s Yesterday’s Australia segment is thanks to member @Earth Child. They shared some great memories in our nostalgia forum, but one, in particular, stood out to us. A memory of a popular Aussie treat, fish and chips: ‘On a Friday night, fish and chips from LeCoutiers one Main Road was a popular family treat. Neighbours queued out the door and onto the footpath. On the way home, it was standard practice to tear a hole into the end of the wrapping and gorge as many hot greasy chips as possible while savouring the warmth the warm parcel afforded when held to your chest.’ Read more of Earth Child’s memories in our forum here.
What a lovely memory! I can imagine the delicious smell of hot chips wafting through the air. Yum! Thanks for sharing this memory with us, @Earth Child!

A lawyer was cross-examining the doctor about whether or not he had checked the pulse of the deceased before he signed the death certificate.

French toast is a staple food in France called ‘Pain perdu’, which translates literally to lost bread because it was made from bread that was too stale to be eaten commonly but still useable for this purpose.
