Saturday Edition
Good morning, members! Or, as they say in the Philippines, Magandang Umaga! How do you like our little foray into learning some foreign phrases? We sure are having fun with it! If you have suggestions for other languages or terms you would like to learn, please let us know in our forum here. Anyways, it's Saturday once again! Oh, how we love weekends. We hope you have some fun planned with family and friends today. Or maybe you're planning on taking some well-deserved 'me-time’. Whatever you end up doing, we hope you have a
great day!
Now let's get into the answer to yesterday's riddle, shall we?
Sometimes I shine, sometimes I’m dull, sometimes I am big, and sometimes I am small. I can be pointy, I can be curved, and don’t ask me questions because even though I’m sharp, I’m not smart enough to answer you. What am I?
Did you get it? The answer is a knife! Why? Because sometimes knives are dull (when they need to be sharpened), sometimes they are big (like butcher knives), sometimes they are small (like a paring knife), and they can be pointy and curved. And, of course, knives can't answer questions because they're not alive! So, if you got this one correct, stick around and you'll find a shoutout waiting for you further down in this newsletter.
Now, onto our next segment for the day, ‘What Would the Grandkids Say.’
Today we’re taking a look at the phrase 'I'm baby'. This phrase is used to express being needy and tender in a funny/cute way. When someone says ‘I'm baby’, they mean they're innocent, adorable, and lovable. This phrase is told to a loved one or a friend as a way of being affectionate. It can also be used in arguments to prove your innocence or that you don't deserve punishment. So next time your grandkids say ‘I’m baby’, impress them with your knowledge!
Oh, and before we get into the news, don't forget to check out today's ALDI Special Buys! There are some great deals on kitchen essentials, so make sure you take a look!

Today’s ‘Yesterday’s Australia’ segment is thanks to member @JayKay, who shared a lovely memory as an entry to our Nostalgia Competition. ‘A fond memory I have is my billy cart my brother built using scrap materials dragged home from the local tip down the bottom of our street. The wheels were from a discarded pram, and the frame was from timber off-cuts from building sites after World War 2 ended. We used to sell our old newspapers. My Mum used to get The Sun, which is a smaller size (Tabloid) than The Age (broadsheet), so my Grandpa used
to bring us his old Age newspapers for Mum to bundle up into long rolls and tie with string. My sister and I would wheel the bundles up to the local greengrocer on our billy carts to sell for a penny a pound.’ Read the rest of their story here.
Oh, this is such a heartwarming story of sibling bonding and resourcefulness. It’s amazing what we can accomplish when we work together and use our imaginations. You and your siblings clearly had a blast wheeling your homemade billy carts around. This brings us back to a simpler time when people weren’t so reliant on technology, and we had to be more creative. Thank you, @JayKay, for sharing your lovely memory with us!

What are African tails?
Today’s picture is thanks to our dear member @Cherry. She posted this photo in our photography forum along with the caption, ‘My husband and I went to dinner at ‘Rumba Island Bar & Grill’ in Clearwater, Florida, before a ‘Men at Work’ concert, which by the way, was absolutely fantastic! I’m always ready to try something different, something local to eat. I looked at the board on the wall and saw African tails. What are African tails? So curiosity got the better of me, so I asked the waitress. Would you believe they were lobster tails from Africa? Obviously, it was very popular, because there was nothing left. I’ll have to keep an eye out for them.’
Wow, I’ve never heard of African tails before! I'm definitely curious now and would love to try them. They sound like they would be really good! For those of you who have never heard of African tails, they are produced off the cold shores of South Africa. These lobster tails are one of the premier lobster tail species served around the world. This got us craving for some lobster tails and we had to share this recipe with you all!
