Recently, the British Ambassador to Israel, Mr Simon Walters, hosted the launch of the new phase of BIRAX focusing on Healthy Ageing. BIRAX is the flagship programme of the British Council and British Embassy enabled by the Pears Foundation.
During the event we announced six winning UK-Israel collaborative research projects under BIRAX Ageing. To date, BIRAX has invested approximately £13 million in 32 research collaborations between the two countries.
The event gathered leading figures from academia, government, philanthropy, and the medical sector – strengthening the UK-Israel partnership in scientific research. Attendees had the chance to connect, exchange ideas, and discuss future collaborations around Healthy Ageing.
Our special gratitude to the Pears Foundation – BIRAX founding partner, and to our coalition of partners for your commitment emphasised the importance of BIRAX as a powerful bridge between the UK and Israel in advancing cutting edge research.
Special thanks to our distinguished partner speakers at the event, Dina Gidron – Pears Foundation, Prof Avi Domb – Chief Scientist at the Israel Ministry of Science and Technology, and Ilia Stambler – Chairman of Vetek (Seniority) Association.
Ravit Capauner, Head of BIRAX: 'The ongoing interaction with partners and researchers is at the heart of our mission to bridge and build a sustainable and growing community of researchers between the UK and Israel and we look forward to continue strengthening the ties to advance cutting-edge science.’
