NEWS UPDATE31 July 2026 Publishers noteOur condolences go to the family, friends and colleagues of industry stalwart Harry Davis. Harry was there in the early days of the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show and served our industry for more than two decades. Harry left us this week, but the relationships he built and the contribution he made will ensure his legacy lives on for many years to come. Congratulations to the Australian Commercial Marine Group team on the faultless delivery of the 2026 Australian Commercial Marine Conference aboard the M/V Starship. The setting only added to the excellent content, formidable participation and almost endless networking and business opportunities. A full report is included in Marine Business News. It was another comprehensive program that has sparked my interest and will undoubtedly lead to more stories in the weeks ahead. There have also been two key appointments in recent weeks. Congratulations to Tracy Souris on her appointment as General Manager – Rozelle Bay with JLL, taking responsibility for two of Sydney Harbour’s most significant recreational boating and superyacht facilities. The Port Authority of New South Wales has also announced the appointment of Board Director Justine Jarvinen as its new Chair. In other event news, Nautilus Marine Insurance has reaffirmed its partnership with Hamilton Island Race Week for 2026, while dates have been announced for the 2027 Auckland Boat Show, which will open the Australasian boat show season. Today also marks the second day of the Sydney Boat Show at Sydney Olympic Park. Once again, there is plenty happening across our industry, both locally and further afield. We do hope you enjoy this week’s news. #ETRWYW Marine Business News is an Australian-owned marine industry news service publishing local and international news.
