Genre Meet-Up

Hudson's Mill

Thursday, Nov. 19th, 6 - 8 pm

The Sci-Fi Book Club is meeting to discuss the following books:

  •  SCI FI: All Systems Red - Martha Wells - In a corporate, spacefaring future, planetary missions must be approved and supplied by the Company and shadowed by a Company-supplied ‘droid—a self-aware AI that refers to itself as “Murderbot.” Scornful of humans, all it wants is to be left alone to figure out who it is. But when a mission goes dark, it's up to the scientists and their Murderbot to get to the truth.
  •  FANTASY: The Other Valley - Scott Alexander Howard -  A speculative novel about an isolated town that is neighbored on either side by its own past and future.
  • DYSTOPIAN: The Running Man - Richard Bachman - In 2025, Ben Richards is out of work and out of luck. For a man from the poor side of town with no cash and no hope, there's only one thing to do: become a contestant on the Network's game show where you can win more money than you've ever dreamed of - or die trying.
