Breakfast in the Park

Parent-Child Luncheon

Held from November 27th through December 8th, parents of Primary and Elementary children were able to enjoy a meal with their parent in their classroom environment. This very special visit gave parents a unique insight to their child's daily routine where they had an opportunity to meet their friends and spend time with their teachers, and most importantly, create some priceless memories with their child that will last a lifetime!

On November 22nd, OMS held its Harvest Feast. Children enjoyed turkey or cheese sandwiches; caprese skewers; fruit salad; pumpkin pie; and apple cider from Mendocino Farms and Whole Foods. It was a great start to the holidays!

Quiltmaker's Gift

Elementary Opera Performance

On December 7th, the Elementary children hosted The Quiltmaker’s Gift children's opera performance. OMS families and children cheered on the participants as they brought to life the beloved story about a generous quilt maker who finally agreed to make a quilt for a greedy king, but only under certain conditions which caused him to undergo a change of heart.

Sand Box

In addition to enjoyment, playing in a sand box improves a child’s problem-solving skills by allowing them to explore different materials and objects while encouraging creativity.

Working with a Paintbrush

Using a paintbrush builds fine motor skills by requiring the use of a pincher grasp; encouraging movement of the hand, wrist, and arm; and developing ​​​​​​good pencil grip and grip strength.

As a part of the Practical Life activities, children participate in snack procedures by gathering the items, preparing/cutting the food and serving their classmates.

Looking Ahead

January 2024

Winter Break

School will be closed from December 16th through January 2nd for the winter break and will resume on January 3, 2024.

Holiday

School will be closed on January 15th in recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Parent Observation Days

Held from January 16th through 31st, Primary and Elementary parents will have a 30-minute opportunity to observe their child(ren) in their classroom environment to see their routine and interactions with their teachers and peers.
