CEO Check In

Welcome to the first quarterly edition of the Grains Australia newsletter for 2024.

It was great to be in Jakarta and Shanghai earlier this month as part of AGIC Asia, hosted by Grain Trade Australia.

This was a valuable opportunity to strengthen relationships with our important Indonesian and Chinese customers and to meet and discuss trade related aspects with a number of key government officials in both countries.

Strengthening relationships in Asia

Grains Australia was a proud sponsorship partner of Grain Trade Australia's recent AGIC Asia conference, themed 'Reconnecting and building value'.

CEO Richard Simonaitis provided an overview of Grains Australia and introduced presentations by the Australian Export Grains Innovation Centre (AEGIC) on topics including soft wheat, the health benefits of oats and barley in Chinese swine rations.

Variety classified as milling oat

Grains Australia recently announced the classification of InterGrain’s oat variety 13008-18 (now known as Goldie) as a milling oat.

This classification was the first made under Grains Australia’s new National Oat Variety Classification Framework.

COUNCILS

 
 

Grains Australia’s Commodity Councils and the Grains Market Access Council assist in determining its strategic direction.
The first round of meetings for 2024 has commenced with the Pulse Council coming together on March 7 and the Wheat Council meeting on March 20.
