Thursday Edition
Good morning and happy Thursday members! How are we all doing on this fine day? We have an absolute mountain of stuff for you today, so grab some brekky and a cuppa, find somewhere comfortable to plant your bottom and enjoy!
Let’s get this party started, and dig straight into the answer to yesterday's brain-busting riddle eh? Here’s a refresher on what it was:
What coat has no arms, stitching, cloth, collar or pockets?
This one was pretty tricky, and we had a good mix of answers. However, the correct answer is… a coat of paint! While there were a few different answers given on our Riddle Masters thread, there was a large portion of you that solved this one, so give yourself a pat on the back for us! Alongside the gratification of knowing you’re a true puzzle solving pro, enjoy a shoutout down below!
Now, as we always love to do on Thursdays, it’s time to share with you a Fascinating Fact!
You may not know it, but you (yes you specifically) are a bit of a speed demon. In fact, everyone is, however, not in the way you might think. Did you know, every time you cough, you do so at around 100km/h. Pretty fast right? Well ladies and gents, that's nothing. Your sneezes are even faster, averaging speeds of around 160km/h. So if you can control it, don’t go speed sneezing around any speed cameras folks, you might just set one off!
So, what’s happening in the news across Australia and the world today?
-
Do you buy Australian made? Many of us do it as a way to support Aussie businesses. But are we being scammed? We took a deep dive into what Australian made really means, and the results left us outraged.
-
Mouldy washing machine? One ALDI shopper has shared the $2 hack that rids your washing machine of filth!

It seems more and more things are being proven to cause weight gain every day. Well here’s one you may not have expected: Your Shampoo…
-
Now this is what we call a hack! This $3 gift wrapping hack has people all over the country calling it ‘genius’!
-
‘How did we not know this?’ One Woolies shopper has shared their discovery of a secret brake that can be found on the supermarket giant’s trolleys!
-
But it seems not everyone is too happy with Woolies at the moment. They have been called out for their ‘outdated’ back to school displays…
-
And that’s not all, Woolies shoppers have spotted a massive fail inside cans of SPC tomatoes. You have to see this one to believe it folks!
-
ALDI shoppers have united to defend one mum after the school lunch she packed for her child was heavily criticised for one ‘ew’ detail.
-
And last, but certainly not least, Snickers have introduced their Creamy Peanut Butter Bar, and we are salivating at the very thought.
Aaaaaaand that’s a wrap of the news for today. Be sure to stick around, as we have plenty in store for you further down, including a joke from member @Wendy that will make your sides burst, and an absolutely angelic picture of the day courtesy of @Rhony. Thanks for sharing these guys!
Oh and one more thing, there is only 8 days until the SDC photo competition comes to a close folks! So before it’s too late, head on over here, and upload a couple of your favourite snaps and give us a brief little blurb about them! Once you’ve done all that, you’re in the running to win a $100 voucher to spend at Coles or Woolies! How good? So get in quick, the winner will be announced on February 11th.
Most importantly members, stay safe, and happy reading!

Who here loves a delicious Wagon Wheel? They were only 5 cents each back in the day and definitely bigger, with a generous amount of jam and marshmallow. While they have changed over the years, they still offer that same great flavour!

It's no secret that washing machines, particularly front-loading models, are a notorious breeding ground for mould. Warmer temperatures, bacteria from clothes, detergent and fabric softener residue, and a dark, moist environment all combine to leave you with a stinky and mouldy washer. Mould is most often found behind the rubber gasket that seals the door to prevent leaks. If not removed, the odour and debris come off and onto your clothes during the wash. Yuck!
If you’ve always struggled to scrub away that pesky mould, then look no further! An Aldi shopper has revealed a hack for keeping the rubber seal like new using this $2.59 Aldi product. And the best part? No harsh scrubbing is required!
