MARINE BUSINESS NEWS UPDATE

NEWS UPDATE

4 March 2022

Publishers note

Well this weeks news has not been good for boaties.  The poor weather conditions with torrential rain and flooding have meant that traditional boating in many locations will be very dangerous.

Rapid waters, floating debris, hidden objects below the water surface have meant that any form of recreational boating, in many parts of Australia, is simply too dangerous.   Add to that the ongoing Bureau of Meteorology warnings, and we have to concede that many should just stay on solid ground for now.

That said, you have to have admiration for the many boaties who who did take to the water for the sole purpose of helping people in trouble.  No one can doubt that there are many people alive today because of the courage of Aussies to said "I have to help".  Most ended well, but we also did see the occasional mishap, even with vessels from the rescue groups.

My advice is to leave the rescues to the experts, although no doubt we will see the Aussie fighting spirit taking to the water help.

Stay safe on the water,
