Kia ora e hoa,

Starting in any new job is not just about learning about a new role, it’s also getting to know a new workplace.

At Corrections, this workplace can look different depending on where you are based. We have 18 prisons sites, each having different specialist units, security levels and site-specific activities. We also have many Community Corrections sites, as well as regional offices and a National Office.

In this issue of Tiritiri, we are sharing two videos, filmed in 2023, showcasing Hawke’s Bay Regional Prison. One of these is focused on Corrections Officers, the other also features nurses and a psychologist. Even if not based in Hawke’s Bay, we hope it is helpful in giving you an insight into how our different sites can look, as well as providing further information on the roles.

Ngā mihi,
