Leaps and Bounds No images? Click here 2022 Was an Amazing Year at G3 Engineering & Surveying!! We have grown in leaps and bounds over the last year with our current work force 33% higher than just one year ago. In addition, we have also opened a Greenville branch to better serve our clients in the upstate, as well as expanding here locally with a new annex building, simply because we are quickly outgrowing our current space here in Pawleys. For those of you that travel the 544 corridor, you've no doubt seen the plethora of G3 projects currently underway. We are humbled and excited to be such a major player in the area's continued growth. Horry County's Booming Population Growth The pandemic brought a lot of changes to our lives. Believe it or not, in the case of those who call Horry County home, it brought more people to the neighborhood. Over the course of a year and a half, from April 2020 to July 2021, Horry County's population grew faster than any other county in South Carolina. That's according to new data from the U.S. Census originally, meant to decipher how the pandemic impacted populations. It found that while large metro areas like NYC, Los Angeles, and Chicago saw people leaving in droves, many picked the beach as their next stop. Myrtle Beach's metro area was ranked third in the Top 10 Metro Areas for Percent Growth from July 2020 to one year later. ![]() Horry County saw 14,550 people added to its population between April 2020 and July 2021. That's six fold compared to the capital in Richland County, it is also the largest growth amongst the 5 largest counties in the state. Horry County's growth from summer of 2020 to one year later is the most in the state according to Census data. Census data shows that a majority of the population changes from 2019 to 2020 were those 60 years of age and older. Fresh numbers on the demographics will come in June according to a U.S. Census spokesperson. Welcome Shannon Shytle!!
