Happy Holidays from Reach Sober Living! As 2025 comes to a close, we’re reflecting on all of the doors that have been opened this past year, both literally and figuratively, making for a remarkable year of progress, recovery, and hope.
Celebrating the Completion of The VillasWe were thrilled to open the doors of The Villas at Engleman this year, our newly completed independent sober living home. Seeing this vision come to life and celebrating it together before the first snowfall made the moment even more meaningful. The open house marked an important expansion of Reach Sober Living’s network of sober living options in Kalamazoo. Our team loved welcoming the community inside, offering tours, connecting with local media, and sharing the purpose and hope behind every room in the home. The Villas at Engleman represents a major milestone for our organization, and it’s just the beginning. We’re proud of what was built and excited for what’s ahead in 2026 and beyond.
A Strong First Year for our Westnedge HomeAfter celebrating its opening in late 2024, our Westnedge home has been finding its stride. After a year of occupancy, the home is thriving and serving as a stable, supportive place for individuals committed to their recovery journey. To date, the Westnedge home has supported 8 individuals, with 3 residents already successfully graduating from the program. Each person represents a story of progress, resilience, and the power of safe, sober housing paired with community support. We’re proud of how the Westnedge home continues to make a meaningful impact and we are grateful to see it fulfilling its vision. Welcoming New Faces to the Reach TeamWe expanded our team this year with several new folks and are excited about the new heights they’re helping us reach! Please join us in welcoming the following individuals to the Reach Sober Living team:
Recovery Headed Into the New YearAcross the country, and here in Michigan, funding cuts are impacting essential services for individuals in recovery. We expect these funding challenges to continue in 2026. Despite this, the need for safe, supportive, and sober housing continues to grow. As captured in this article from Second Wave Media, Reach Sober Living remains committed to filling this gap. However, we can’t do it alone. To sustain our homes and expand services in 2026, we need ongoing community support. Here’s how you can help:
Every contribution, big or small, makes a real difference. None of This is Possible Without YouWe continue to be filled with gratitude for what has been built at Reach Sober Living. Because of generous donors like you who believe in our mission of building bridges to recovery and purpose, we are transforming lives in Kalamazoo! Through your support, we continue to build spaces where dignity, value, and hope take root and grow. These homes are more than buildings.
