Free Report: Connect with Students to Improve Engagement
Schools at all levels are looking for ways to counteract the disruptive effects of the pandemic. Despite the return to in-person learning, many students are still disengaged, not attending classes, or both. A report from The Chronicle of Higher Education (free sign-in required) highlights the important role that social connections play in learning and explores some of the ways colleges and professors are trying to help students feel more connected.
One key strategy that can be utilized with students of any age is for instructors to establish rapport with students and show they care about students as individuals. Social connections are a precursor to learning, and building social connections is just one of the many wonderful benefits of the Get Focused Stay Focused (GFSF) program.
